[CONTEST REMINDER] Character and a Movie contest

Here's the thing:

Summer gets humid, hot and not so dankly unless it rains. So what better to do than to go hit the movies, cool off in the dark show rooms, and be entertained?

However, have you taken the time, and really taken the time, to dwell deeper into the poster that advertises your movie? The composition, color theory, rule of thirds and other intriguing artistic values that are focused into these posters?

Well it’s time for another contest! The prize is a whole year membership worth! Even the 2nd, and 3rd place winners will attain three, and one month memberships for the best movie poster!


And what’s more fun then entering your fursona, or OC, into a favorite movie of yours in poster form?

RULES

Simple rules:

1. Choose a favorite movie you love.

2. Insert your fursona/OC in the movie, in poster form and design your poster!

3. (Original movie posters you make yourself well reward you extra points)

4. Credit the movie always

Advance rules:

Since this is truly a poster design, artistic composition comes into play and must be applied.

This will amply that you must consider color theory, negative and positive space, (Even though mostly used in comics) form, etc.

One of the most important rules is rules of thirds, used in photography often it can be found in these posters.  Dividing your poster into a 3 column, 3 row grid making sure the pictures composition is accurate and pleasing to the eye in both an artistic and logical way.





1. Keep in mind rule of thirds.

2. Rule of odds.

3. A good view point, and horizon line that formulates a decent poster.

4. Focus on the main subject and primary objects

5. Color Theory. Making sure all the colors complimenting each other and are visually sound.

6. Be creative, have fun and produce a movie poster a line-up would want to watch opening night.
